What Called Jazz and Jazzy Love Song

On this beautiful afternoon, my buddy, Candra (I'd like to call him Cancan or Tokecan), visited my home. I invited him to have a lunch with me before copied all of his pictures when he performed on stage on Kharisma Jazz Festival which held on my campus, UB, some times ago. We enjoyed spending the time sharing many things, like what has happened to me the day and day before. Then we dicussed about what jazz music is. We both love jazz, but no really know about jazz so much, especially pure jazz. Hhhmm, but we agree that 'what called jazz', eer 'pure jazz' is sometimes rather difficult to listen. So we do like to listen 'we called jazz' which more easy listening, even it is not trully/pure jazz, for example some songs are sung by Tompi, Maliq n d'essentials, Ecoutez, and Andien.

Hm, I think that 'what called jazz' is about taste when we listen it, isn't it?! I do like to call it jazz, when there's piano, saxofone and contra bass ('bass betot' in Indonesia), like a song from Esperanza Spalding, 'I know you know', there's contra bass playing. Wow, it's nice!

And after Cancan copied all of the performance picture, I copied jazz song that he has. Some of songs I've ever known, but I was really sure it is sung by another singer that I've ever known, such as 'Nature Boy' which I know was sung by Celine Dion. Surprisingly, while I listened all songs I've copied to, I found a song which the title is not so strange for me, 'At Last'. Ow my gosh! I know it is sung by Celine Dion too, yet I know this is sung by Etta James. To remind me about the song, I searched the lyrics on Google, and I found this http://www.romantic-lyrics.com/atlast.shtml

At Last Lyrics by Etta James

At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
Oh, yeah, at last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clovers
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to rest my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last

I so much enjoy listening this song.. And I think it is not so bad compared with Celine Dion version. The difference I feel more jazzy with
Etta James version. Agree?!
This song is so sweet, and my imagination immediately sailing wherever it goes. I dream how sweet it is when I listen this song with a man I really love with all of my heart. Uuuuwhh, so lovely, so romantic, so sweet!! ^^

And the 2nd song actually I not really know the meaning, but from the rhythm is so fun to listen. This song is sung by Robbie Williams, 'Beyond The Sea'. Of course I searched the lyric to get more feeling about the song.

"Beyond The Sea"

Somewhere beyond the sea,
Somewhere waiting for me,
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailing.

Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watching for me.
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing

It's far beyond the star,
It's near beyond the moon.
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon

We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
And happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing

I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet, I know, we'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
And happy we will be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing

No more sailing
So long, sailing, sailing, no more sailing

Good-bye, farewell my friend, no more sailing

So long sailing, no more sailing

No more, farewell...

No more sailing

So much fun spending the night listening to what called jazz music. :D
